Rooms that stay open all day, about anything at all.
A chatroom in Hashti is a place, not a feed. Open one about your subject, leave it running, and people walk in, talk and leave — by text, on voice, or on video. It is still there tomorrow.
Open a room
Public, or just your people.
Public rooms are listed in the directory, under a category, for anyone to walk into. Private rooms sit behind a link, an invite or a password. Pick a template and the switches are set for the kind of room you are running.
- Templates: open hangout, support group, study hall, open mic, watch party, Q&A / AMA, late night, speed networking.
- Rules per room, enforced by the room itself; a clean-only switch for rooms that want no swearing at all.
- Put it on the map. A room can show up for people nearby — rounded to about a kilometre, and only while the host wants it there.

Tiles for whoever turns a camera on, and screen sharing from the web app.
Stage mode
One person has the floor. A queue to request the stage, and a waiting room for the door.
Slow mode
When the room moves too fast, one message per person every few seconds.
Talking
Type along, or take the stage.
Voice is a channel inside the room, not a separate call. Turn it on when there is something to say out loud, listen while you type, and hand the floor over in stage mode when one person should be heard.
Karaoke and open mic rooms keep a sign-up list and pass the floor along by themselves. Live reactions float across the room, and stickers come in a house pack everyone has plus each room's own.

Nobody sits in an empty room. These are built in — no bots to install, nothing to set up.
Games
Trivia, two truths and a lie, word chain, categories, would you rather, and polls the whole room votes in.
Listening queue
One playhead everyone hears in sync. The host controls it; anyone can add to it. Video links turn it into a watch party.
Whiteboard and soundboard
Shared strokes, live, with undo. Eight clips the whole room hears — rate-limited hard.
Breakout rooms
Split a big room into small ones and bring everyone back.
Speed networking
Everybody paired one to one, a few minutes each, round after round.
Q&A
Questions collected, voted up and answered in order — anonymously, if the room allows it.
Hosting
Keep it in hand.
A host has co-hosts and moderators, a waiting room, a mute and a ban that hold on the socket as well as the screen, and analytics that say when the room is busy and how long people stay — as totals, never as who was there when.
- Catch-ups and icebreakers. Walk into a busy room and ask what you missed; get a question that restarts a quiet one.
- Recordings, transcripts and clips. With everyone's consent, a room can be recorded, turned into words, and cut into highlights.
- Bots, for hosts who verify: a plain API to post into your own room.
Finding somewhere to be. A directory by category, trending rooms, rooms starting soon with a reminder, rooms your friends are in right now, and — if you let it — rooms near you.
Questions
About rooms
Does a room close when the host leaves?
No. A room stays open until its host archives it — that is the point of it. A host can also make a disappearing room that closes itself after an event, or schedule one to open at a set time and appear under "Starting soon".
Can anyone speak on voice?
Everyone can listen. Speaking on voice, like hosting a room, waits for the ID check — once, with a passport, driving licence or national ID — so the voice in a room belongs to a real person. In stage mode, the host decides who is on stage.
How many people fit in a room?
Rooms have capacity tiers the host picks from, with a waiting room and a stage-request queue for the busy nights. Voice and video rooms run on LiveKit, the same engine as the calls.
Can I charge for a room?
Hosts can sell a one-off ticket, a monthly subscription or pay-per-minute entry, paid in Hashti coins. That part is not switched on until launch, and it never gates the free rooms.

Leave an address and you get one email the day it opens — nothing else, ever. It is deleted once that email is sent.
