Private chats, groups, calls — and a button you hold to talk.
Everything you expect from a messenger, and a few things you do not: round video notes, a walkie-talkie for the moment a message is too slow, and secret chats nobody outside them can read.
Say it the way you meant it.
Reply, react, edit for fifteen minutes, delete for you or for everyone. Star what matters, pin up to three things, search a chat or all of them, and jump to a date.
- Disappearing messages — 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days, with a default timer for new chats; view once for photos, videos and voice notes.
- Delivered and read ticks, both ways or not at all; message info with who has read what and when.
- Scheduled messages, at a time or the moment they come online; broadcast lists; saved replies with "/"; private nicknames; chat wallpapers.
- Formatting — *bold*, _italic_, ~strike~, code, quotes and lists; @mentions in groups that get through a mute.
Photos, videos, and a note that is a face.
Send photos in standard or HD, albums, videos, files, stickers, a location — pinned, or live for fifteen minutes, an hour or eight — a contact card, a poll, an event with RSVPs and a reminder.
- Voice notes with playback speed and, where the server transcribes, the words.
- Round video notes, up to a minute, recorded in the app and played in their circle.
- Photos lose their metadata on the way up — including where they were taken.
Together, at whatever size.
Groups with admins and permissions, an invite link and a QR code, join approval, a description and an icon. Communities keep groups together under one name with an announcements group. Channels are for following: updates, photos and polls, with followers counted and never listed.
- Reply privately to something said in a group. Share the last 25, 50 or 100 messages with somebody new, and the group is told.
- A safety card over any group a stranger put you in, with leave and report one tap away.
- Status: text, a photo or a video for a day, for the people you choose.

Try it: press and hold. In the app, the people in the chat hear you while you hold it, and their phones tell them who is talking.
One friend, or sixteen. Or just hold the button.
Voice and video calls ring over any screen and survive moving around the app. Call links with knock-to-join, screen sharing on the web, a calls screen, and silence for unknown callers.
- Walkie-talkie: in a private chat or group, hold the button and whoever has Hashti open hears you live, out loud. Nothing rings; nobody picks up. It opens by itself when somebody talks to you and closes when the chat goes quiet.
- The microphone is yours. It opens only while you hold the button and is released the moment you let go.
- Only where it belongs. Never in a public room, a message request or a secret chat; friends only before you verify; and a switch in Settings turns it off for you entirely.
Who reaches you is up to you.
Who can message you, who sees when you were last here, who can add you to a group, who sees your photo and your about — and a privacy checkup that walks through all of it.
- Secret chats — end-to-end encrypted, opt-in, between friends, text only, with a security code you can compare.
- App lock and locked chats — Face ID or your fingerprint on a phone, a password or PIN on the web; a secret code that hides locked chats entirely.
- Link a web browser with a QR code, and see and sign out every device.

Leave an address and you get one email the day it opens — nothing else, ever. It is deleted once that email is sent.
